Emotet-based Social Engineering skills through malware becoming more powerful

Cybercriminals are getting smarter in how they try to trick UoT into falling prey to a social engineered cyberattack.

Through Emotet – ” a Malware-as-a-Service (MaaS) cybercrime operation that’s rented to other criminal groups” (ZDNet, 2020), cybercriminals continue to modify their attack strategies to make them appear more legitimate as ever.

While it can be very difficult to know what notices to allow software and system updates are legitimate, this article outlines some that deserve reading.  By becoming more familiar with these types of extremely convincing social engineering tactics, and by reviewing examples, you can become more cyber-safe and cyber-secure.
